As we expand into professional recording studio services, we're looking for an experienced Studio Recording & Mix Engineer who is passionate about delivering world-class sound and exceptional client experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Studio Recording

  • Record vocalists, instrumentalists and session musicians.
  • Prepare recording sessions before client arrival.
  • Set up microphones, interfaces and studio equipment.
  • Achieve clean, professional recordings.
  • Direct artists when necessary to achieve the best performances.

Mixing

  • Mix commercial songs for studio clients.
  • Mix Afrobeat Producers sample packs, loops and compositions.
  • Balance vocals, drums, bass and instruments to industry standards.
  • Deliver mixes optimized for Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and other streaming platforms.

Sample Pack Production

  • Mix loops, one-shots and compositions.
  • Maintain consistency across every sample pack.
  • Ensure exported files meet technical specifications.

Studio Operations

  • Organize sessions and backups.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Keep the studio clean and client-ready.
  • Prepare projects before recording sessions.

Client Experience

  • Welcome clients professionally.
  • Create a comfortable recording environment.
  • Manage studio time efficiently.
  • Communicate professionally with artists.

Quality Control

  • Ensure every project meets Afrobeat Producers' quality standards.
  • Check exports before delivery.
  • Prevent clipping, distortion and technical issues.

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Cubase or similar DAWs.
  • Strong understanding of EQ, compression, saturation, delay and reverb.
  • Experience recording vocals.
  • Experience mixing Afrobeat, Afropop, Amapiano, Afro House or similar genres.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under deadlines.
  • Able to work on-site in Lagos.

Preferred

  • Music production experience.
  • Knowledge of vocal tuning.
  • Experience editing live instruments.
  • Understanding of mastering.
  • Experience with sample pack production.
  • Basic knowledge of studio maintenance.
